Moon Committee

As Executive Managing Officer and General Manager of the Digital Strategy Division at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Mr. Asano leads the planning and promotion of the Mitsui & Co. Group’s IT, DX (Digital Transformation), and AX (Asset Transformation) strategies. On the Moon committee, he is responsible for determining Moon’s strategy and policies. After joining Mitsui & Co. in 1994, he gained extensive experience across a wide range of areas—including business development and execution, affiliate company establishment and liquidation, investment, accounting, and corporate planning—through roles such as a venture capital investment trainee in the U.S., a four-year assignment in India, and secondments to seven affiliate companies (including serving as President and CEO of Mitsui Knowledge Industry Co., Ltd. from April 2021). After serving as President and CEO of Mitsui Knowledge Industry Co., Ltd. for four years starting in April 2021, he assumed his current position. His hobbies include daily morning walks, golf, soccer, and exercising.
