Moon Committee

Mr. Matsui is Moon Committee member responsible for overseeing Moon's overall strategy, and brings a wealth of experience to his role, having served as Representative Director and Executive Vice President of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. As a member of Mitsui & Co.’s Executive Committee, his oversight responsibilities included IT & communication, digital transformation, and the chemicals and energy businesses. From 2023 to 2025, he held the position of Chief Digital Information Officer. With a distinguished 35-year career at Mitsui & Co., Mr. Matsui has primarily focused on the energy industry. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Mitsui's Energy Business Unit 1 and the Energy Solutions Business Unit. From 2018 to 2020, he was General Manager of the Corporate Planning & Strategy Division, where he guided Mitsui's global strategic planning. As General Manager of Mitsui's E&P Division from 2015 to 2018, he was responsible for the company's global E&P portfolio.
